Mama Lam's x Studio Bumi's Fundraiser

Help Reduce Food Insecurity and Loneliness for Asian American Elders
Bagus from Studio Bumi moved to the United States in 2021 from Indonesia and created Studio Bumi in 2023 as a food experience company on a mission to highlight underrepresented cuisines, foster friendships, and alleviate loneliness in big cities through communal dining.
Mama Lam’s is a small batch manufacturer of Malaysian flavors based in Queens, NY. All the recipes originated from Cassandra’s Mom, Mama Lam, who was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur but immigrated to New York City in her 20s.
For our collaborative dinner for AAPI month, we wanted to show love to Heart of Dinner and fundraise for their cause. When deciding the charity to fundraise for, it was a no-brainer as the mission of Heart of Dinner and Studio Bumi were aligned.
As part of the fundraiser, one donor will be randomly selected to the dinner scheduled on May 12th at Kato Sake Works.
Join us in supporting Heart of Dinner’s mission to address food insecurity, social isolation, and loneliness among Asian American Elders across NYC.
Heart of Dinner hand-delivers nearly 700 culturally thoughtful care packages every week to Elders who experience profound challenges due to food insecurity and isolation. Each care package is designed to nourish both body and spirit, including:
💌 Handwritten notes in the Elder’s native language, offering culturally nuanced comfort and connection.
🎨 Hand-decorated bags adorned with uplifting artwork to bring warmth and joy.
🍱 Nutrient-dense meals sourced from local small businesses owned by BIPOC, women, and LGBTQIA+ leaders.
1 in 3 Asian Elders in NYC lives below the poverty line, and many face barriers that neglect their foundational needs, leaving them unseen and alone. Your support helps Heart of Dinner reduce food insecurity, foster connection, and show our Elders they are cherished.
Even a small donation can help provide vital meals and emotional support. Together, we can create a ripple effect of love and care. Please join me in uplifting our beloved Elders today.
